Quite a large sum has been raised by bis friends for tbe purpose of paying the expenses of his trial. Sheriff Berrie allows the pnsooer to reoeive his visitars in tbe offloe down stairs, but returns him to the steel cage at the end of eaoh interview. Tbe kind-heartedness of tbs sheriff is made manifest by the manner in wbieb he has renovated and improved the steel cage in tha past few days. Livingston is quite sick at her home near Bladen, Mr. J. R. Doerfiinger spent yester day in Brunswick. Mr. E. W. Lundin died at his home in Richmond, Va., last week. Mr. Lundin was a nephew of Mr. J. B. Doerfiinger of this plaoe, and had many triends here whe will regret to learn of bis death. Miss Hattie Drury is visiting in Brunswick.
