Bo long as be thought he had a chance to maintain the rights and liberties of hit people, It was nslnral and proper that bo should fight io sup port of the Filipino republic, but when he ssw success was impossible, good tense and humanity required him to prevent the useless shedding of blood by submitting to the Inevitable. He has " maintained hla cause with vigor, skill and oourage and is entitled to tho respect of the victors.” TOC MUST BB TUEKS. la another column will be found the notice of President Aiken and Secretary Ogg urging member* of the Board of Trade to attend the convention today and the Timkh-Cali. ainoerely hope* that there will not be a member abeent. RBCNIOK HALL. The great hall whioh Is being built for the Confederate reunion at Memphis will be tne largest one ever ereoted for a similar purpose. At a recent meeting of the General Executive Committee It was decided to bnild one for this special occasslon, and graders, bricklayers and carpenters are now aotlvely engaged In laying the foundations and raising the superstructure. The ball will be f nlshed in ample time for the Reunion. Brunswick feels honored today in having the sturdy farmers of South Georgia as her guests.’ The horny banded sons of the soil came here to hear and learn something of the two coming field products—sugar cane and cassava snd that they wilj return to their homes with great faith in these products we feel certain. The Brunswick Board of Trade was wise in calling such a convention be cause we must look to the soil In the future; we must get from the earth what God haß put there for us and that is a good living. The planting of sugar caoe and cassava means the establishing of syrup refineries and etaroh factories; it means stook raising on a large scale and tbs prosperity of South Georgia farmers. The Brunswick Board of Trade has taken the lead in the matter, it has started the movement, now let the farmers consult their own Interest by planting oain and cassava. THE CHARADE. The liability to disease is greatly lessened when the blood is in good con dition , and the circulation healthy and vigorous. For then all refuse matter is promptly carried out of the system; otherwise it would rapidly accumulate —fermentation would take place, the blood become polluted and the consti tution so weakened that a simple malady might result seriously. A healthy, active circulation means good digestion and strong, healthy nerves. Asa blood purifier and tonic S. S. S. has no equal. It is the safest and best remedy for old people and children because It contains no minerals, but is made exclusively of roots and herbs.
