LXAVY Editor SOLAID A. MULLINS, Business Manager Tba new Jacksonville promises to bo a great oily. Tbe infernal revenue stamp will soon be a thing of the past. By all m:ans let Brunswick be repre sented at the Southern Industrial con vention. Tbe Philippine islands are still ex pensive. It runs up to ten million a month. Ex-governor Northern has again been elected president of tbe Southern Baptist convention. The Baltimore Run says Piripont Morgan does not want tbe British em pire. He does not consider it a valua ble asset. The Timks Cali, has no friends to reward; no enemies to punish. We are here to lurni'b 'he news and that is just what we Intend to do. The population of Greater London is 4,536,840. “But, then,” remarks the Journal, ''London bad a good many years’ start on Atlanta.” Edward VII has added to his numer ous other titles that of "Kins’ of Cana da.” Piesident McKinley could add that of “Sultan of Sulu," says the Sa vannah Press. WILL HAVE A CARNIVAL. The Board of Trade is determined that the Georgia Knights of Pythias shall be entertained here at they have nevur been before and to that end a committee has been appointed to arrange for a two days Carnival, and there is no doubt but that the under taking will be a great success. Let all Brunswicklans assist tbe Board of Trade. A PERSISTENT PROSECUTOR. Tbe unrelenting course which Edward A. Cudahy is pursuing towards the kidnappers of his son Is a matter for publio congratulations. He has now dlsconntenanced the effect of the ransom by refusing to accept the return of $31,- 000 of the $25,000 reward for the arrest of the criminals, so that his persistence may cost him a large sum. Undoubtedly if he were to look at the question from the personal and business standpoint alone he might And sufficient reason for abandoning fcls search. His eon is safe and the klduappers have had such a taste of his quality that they ars not likely te make any more experiments in his family. At a word be can reduce Ills fioaoolal loss to $4 000 and save possibly ten times as much. Bu*. as he himself says, he is determined cot only to pnnish tbe offender for his own grat ification, but to d.ter aoy other daring gang from compelling other parents to undergo what be and his have Buffered, Socb a temper in a man of his means and energy will certsinly disoourage the trade for the benefit of the whole com munity. It helps to emphasize the significance of that severe legislation against kidnapping which is very largely the result of the Cudahy case.—Savan nah Press, A GOOD INDICAT,ION. The BrunswlcUian who Is in tbe hßbit of growling about dull times should take a buggy ride around the city and after an hour spent this way he will doubtless reaoh the conclusion that Brunswick Ib growing and at a rapid rate. Every where the song of the hammer and saw can be beard. New houses are b ling ereoted iu all parts cf the city and if this does uot indicate an era of prosperity, what does? it shows that our population is increasing, and popu lation makes a city. BRUNSWICK TIMES-CALL, MAY 12 1901 Bad Circulation la tbe cause of most of the ills that come with old age. With advancing years there is a decline of strength and vigor—the machinery of the body moves with less speed and accuracy. Because of the weak and irregular action of the heart the blood moves more slowly, becomes impure and loses much of its life-sustaining properties, and muscles, tissues and nerves literally starve for lack of nourishment. A sluggish and polluted circulation is followed by a long train of bodily ailments. Colu feet, chilly sensations up and down the spine, poor appetite and digestion, soreness of the muscles, rheumatic pains, hard and fissured skin, face sores, chronic running ulcers on the lower limbs and other parts of the body—these and many other diseases peculiar to old people are due to a lack of healthy blood and imperfect circulation. Restoration to health must come through the building up and purification of the blood, thus adding strength and tone to the vital organs and quick, healthy action to the circulation. S. S. S. being strictly a vegetable blood remedy and tbe best tonic, makes it the most valuable and efficacious of all medicine for old people. It is free from all mineral ingredients, and mild and pleasant in its action. It cures blood diseases of every character, even those inherited or contracted in early life. As thtf system gets under the influence of S. S. 8. there is a marked improvement in the general health, and as richer and purer blood begins to circulate through the body the appetite improves, and there is a softness and elasticity about tbe skin that you have not noticed for years; sores begin to heal, pains in muscles and joints grad ually cease, and you find that it is possible to be happy and healthy even in old age. Our medical department is in charge of phwßlMMjto make*a study of blood and skin diseases. If you would like to and advice in your case, write them all about it and' you shallinformation and advice as you want.
