Gilliam, Esq., a committee of ten was appointed by the President to collect statistics and to me morialize the State Legislature (incor porating such statistics in their memori al) for appropriations for the improve ment of the navigation of the rivers tributary to Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds. The reading of the reports of commit tees heretofore appointed was dispensed with, and it was ordered that they be handed to the Secretary for publication with the proceedings of t his Conven tion, and referred to the several commit tees now appointed. The Convention was addressed by II. A. Gilliam, 11. L. Myers, and W. B. Rodman, Esqrs, On motion of John Myers, Esq., the proceedings of this meeting were order ed to be forwarded to the different pa pers of the State, with a request that they publish the same.
