Official Count Reveals No Marked Change List of Pluralities Reported by the Official Canvass ing Board. The Board of Election Supervisors completed the work of canvassing the returns last Friday morning. No changes in the standing of the lead ing candidates is made by the count, though there was a slight difference in the total for nearly every man. The official pluralities are as fol lows: Fee, D., 408; Metzerott, R., 123; Denhard, R., 222; Zihlman, R., 1,751; Shaffer, R., 1,445; Irvine, R., 136; Har vey, R., (unopposed except by Prohi bition candidate), 3,530; McDonald, D., 104; Ireland, R., 1,365. Oliver J. Bruce, Democrat, leads the whole legislative ticket with 3,534 votes. J. O. J. Greene was beaten out of a legislative position by Olen Gunnett, who poled 240 more votes. Bruce and Reinhart are the first Dem ocratic legislators from Allegany county in 16 years. John T. Edwards, Democrat, handi ly led the ticket among the road direc tors. Had a Long Walk. Wm. A. Murray, a traveling man representating a large tank manufac turing Company, was in Frostburg last Friday. He had some business at Grantsville. He enquired’- of a man he met how far it Was to Grants ville? The reply was, “Five miles.” Mr. Murray thought that would be a nice walk and-started on the journey. After walking what he thought must be five miles, he enquired again the distance to GarretL county’s popular village on the pike. He was astound ed when the reply came, “It is about 10 miles.” He would not turn back, but pushed on until he reached Grants ville. The day was real wintery and part of it very rough. Instead of reaching the town by dinner time it was 3 p. m. —Oakland Republican.
