In the communication from England Prai
rie last week, it was stated that "Messrs Mo
rion and Dell had purchased land just across
the road from Mr. Paddocks". It should
have been Messrs. Marvin and Dell Bucklund
These gentlemen are brothers, and have
come here from Iowa to try our climate and
soil. We wish them success.
Don't forget that we have for sale at this
office blank and receipt books, marriage cer
tificates, etc.
Charlie Smith, of Fergus Falls, has taken
the place of A. A. Cowan as machine agent.
Charlie is "popular and will doubtless give
Katisiactiou.
The Northern Pacific B. R. have let a contract
fo R. S. Mnnger and C. H. Craves, of Duluth
to build as elevator of one million bushel*
t'apsiciij. The elevator is to be ready for
next year# crop.
Tlic masons are to give a grand ball at the
Masonic Hall at Verndale Friday evening,
December 2Gt-h.
The thermometer lias been fooling all the
way from 14 below 0 to a lump of frozen

iie&t record. Next week we commence a
regultgr record.
Thirty-fire pounds flour for a bushel of
No. 1 wheat, and every pound of flour war
mnted satisfactory, ia what we propose te
jive at the Wadena Mill. All wheat in
spected at the mill. We will also give 4
pounds of shorts and 8 pounds of bran. W*
mean to do satisfactory business both te our
customers and ourselves.
