A flock of wild gee3e were flying north last Saturday, which is a good sign of an early spring. M. Halquist and M. Koldal.who had a logging contract in the town of Sinclair this winter, will finish up this week. Mrs. A. Scar bo, who is visiting relatives and friends in Clay for the last three months, will return next Friday. W have a dude who pretends to be a correspondent for a coun try paper. I has two subscribers in this town. Every time the pecksniff writes some slur about his neighbors he goes around and reads his learning. A spring bed agent here agreed to give one of our justices a spring bed if he would promise so officiate at his wedding. Th agent is now around looking for a girl who is willing to marry him, and the judge is sleeping in a new spring bed. Last week's thaw knocked the bottom out of our sleighing. W hope the old adage, ''when March sets in like a lamb it goes out like a lion/' will not prove tr ue this season. Should such be the case then woe be unto many of us who are short of hav and feed. WINSOR ITEMS. School in Dist. 29 will soon com mence with Regna Olson as teacher. Miss Olson having taught the last term in this disti ict, so successfully, has been re-engaged to teach the com ing term. A basket social was wiven at Guy Dunning's school, the proceeds of which were first rate in proportion to the few bidders present. Myrtle Wilcox has been visiting friends in fchool district No 29,.where she had previously taught several months of school. On Saturday evenirg the patrons of Dist. No. 29 gave a Shadow social for the benefit of the district. The social was a success, both financially and socially. The evening was spent by playing games, which lasted until a very late hour. The boys each bought a girl, and wery much disappointed when they found the deed to be null. H. E. Roland is working in ken's saw-mill. In our last itema we mentioned the fact that he was just re covering from an attack of la grippe, which was true at the time, and the writer was surprised to find him work ing so soon. It seems that H. E. has a wonderful constitotion. O. B. Olson, of Broncton, N. D., is here looking after the hay which he has here. Last summer he took ad vantage of the splendid opportunity for getting hay which was afforded here on the Big Meadows to put up a winter's hay. As Mr. Olson keeps a number of horses, it would take a great deal of hay for them, but be sides cutting enough for himself, he has supplied two lumber camps. Bak-ing.
