Clifford Phibbs and Andrew Joh.ison came back from the woods and are not certain whether they will go up again or not Peter .lacobson has gone on a visit to his old home at Baldwin, Wis. Peter has not been there for five long years, and goes there to protect his interests. A brother of Eric Widseth's has arrived from Dakota and will go to school here next term. The school in District No 23 has closed for a vacation of two weeks. A Christmas tree was held in the district Christmas :ve. There was a large crowd present, and the program rendered was a credit to the teacher, Miss Ragna Olson, and her school. Guy Dunning, teacher in Dis trict No 19, lias just closed a three months' term in the district and left for his home in Bemidji to spend his vacation, which will last until after the state examina tion in February. Th following is the report, of the term which was handed in to us by him before he left: Total enrollment, 35 number of diiys in term, 60 total attendance of days by all scholars, 1,200 average dailj attendance, 20 number who attended 40 days or over in the term, 20, who are Alfred Hanson, Clarence Hanson, Bertha Bruckman, Ella Bruck man, Olga Hanson, Cora Ask, Carl Ask, Henry Hanson, Tolef Hanson, Elmer Jacobsori, Clar ence Jacobson, Mabel Halvorson, Earl Laudation, Ida Lee, Hilda Lee, Oscar [Lee, Jcnsine Baanrud, Emma Baanrud, John Bruckman and VYillie Bruckman. A packed house greeted the Christinas tree which was held in .District No. 19 on Christmas night, and there wag not a single person in the vast audience who was not well pleased with the en tertainment ^afforded them. The unanimous answer to the ques tion: "What kind of a time did you have?" was "delightful." In fact, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and this particular Christmas tree will be remembered by the people of Winsor township and for miles around as the one at which everybody had a good time. The most laughable feature of the program war the pie eating con test. Three Jpies were set upon the table and as many men were requested to come and eat them. The man who had his pie eaten first was to get ujie prize, a peck of choice apples. William Bruck man, Christ Jacobson and Gust Berquist entered the contest. Mr. Bruckman won out, although Christ Jacobson was a close sec ond. Berquist quit in the early part of the contest. Mr. Bruck has the apples and also the eating record of Beltrami county, as he ate his pie in one minute and thirty-six seconds. The increasing number of sudden deaths from heart disease daily chron- icled by the press, is proof of the alarm- ing preva- lence of this dangerous complaint, and as no one can foretell just when a fatal collapse A Kreamer. will occur, the danger of neg lecting treatment is certainly a very risky matter. If you are short of breath, have pain in left side, smothering spells, pal pitation, unable to lie on side, especially the left, you should begin taking M?ie Heart Cure. J. A.
