Chris went up to look over the Farley newspaper outfit, and it will be moved from Farley to Kelliher, where the Messrs. Martin and Christianson are soon to begin the publication of a newspaper. Judge Spooner is at Cass Lake this afternoon on business be fore the United States land office. Henry Buenther and Henry Shelley are expected to return the first of the week from their hunting trip to Pine Island. City Attorney Russel, Editor Martin and a party oi friends will spend tomorrow in the big woods north of the city looking for big game. L. H. Bailey will offer a prize for the most successful team of whist players which will be con tested for at the next session of the whist club. Contractor Hurst and a large force of men are pushing work on the Bemidji brewrery as fast as possible and it will no doubt be finished before the latter part of next month. Bemidji hotels have been taxed to their capacity during all the present week. There is a larger number of woodsmen in the city at present than at any time for several months. G. B. Wright Nelson and family leave the first of the coming week for their new home in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson had intended to leave this week but were delayed in getting away. The jury in the Enevold mur der trial at Cass Lake returned a verdict of guilty. Sentence had not been imposed yesterday morning. Enevold was found guilty in the third degree and the term of imprisonment which may be imposed is from five to fifteen years. Chris Christianson is back from Farley this morning with a big story. It is to the effect that a moose ran through the main part of the town of Farley last night. The animal was not dis cernible at any time with the naked eye but Mr. Christianson measured the tracks this morn ing and they were eight inches from tip to tip. A couple of Crookston people arrived in the city at noon today who do not look good to the police. Chief of Police Bailey has issued several declaratory statements regarding what niay and may not b%-done with pro priety in Bemidji by Crookston people and if they fail to live up to all the requirements there will be something doing before night. Traveling salesmen have begun to leave the road and knights of the grip will not be as plentiful from now on until after the holidays as this is the season of the year when the traveling man goes in to the house to give an account of his stewardship and prepare a campaign for the com ing year. There has been a notice able decrease in the number that come to Bemidji during the past two weeks. Ives' ice cream at the Lakeside Bakery. John Middaugh is down from Blackduck today. Sheriff Bailey made a business trip to Blackduck last night. Monday will be the last day of the open hunting season for big game. Mayor Hobson and Recorder Harris are down from Kelliher today on official business. Sleighing is at least fifteen days earlier this year than Inst according to the old timers.
