Mrs. Louis Larson was called from her earthly abode Wednesday morning, Sept. 14th, after a lingering illness of a month and a half, at the age of 56 years, one month and two days. Mrs. Larson, whose maiden name was Hedvig Sands, was born Aug 12, 1865, at Urskog, Smaalenenes Amt, Norway. Hans Sands,"and the sister of Ole, An ton, Casper, Martin and Mrs. Martin family and she was also the last one of the family to be called away from this life. Three years of age she became an emigrant to this country. Her first home on American soil was in Wiscon sin but only for a short time, as her parents moved westward to Minnesota and settled in Kandiyohi County, near Willmar. There she spent most of her childhood days. There she also was in structed for confirmation and was con firmed by the pioneer pastor. Rev. Ole Paulson. At the age of 15 years she came with her parents, her sister and three brothers to the Red River valley, and they settled in the northwest sec tion of Polk county. Thus she was among one of the pioneers hi this sec tion of the valley. On Christmas eve, 1888, she was unit ed by marriage to Louis Larson. She was the mother of six children: Mrs. W. F. Malm, Willie, Hans, Hannah, Andy and Edward. The last one died in his infancy. Mrs. Larson was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran church of Al varado. She leaves a big, empty place both at home and in the congregation. The burial "was held last Saturday from Bethlehem church. Her pastor, S. J. Brekke, officiated. As she was a well-known woman, many were present to follow her to her final resting place in the Alvarado cemetery. She was laid to rest beside her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Willie Larson. She died February 9th, this year. Sleep in peace both of you till the great resurrection morning. Besides her husband'-and.five children to mourn her departure, she also left four grand-children. __ Farewell, I now must leave you The grief this day doth give you Soon others, too, shall bear.
