Ottawa, Oct. 31.— The government is very rctlcicnt regarding tbe reason for collecting Hii-li a large force of mounted police at Prince Albert Kiel's movements have been carefully watched, but so far he has not done anything that would justify any interference with him. According to the latest account be is going around among the half breeds ; and other settlers professedly aiding them in pressing their claims in a legitimate man ner, but the government authorities look upon his actions Tery suspiciously, and the police have been massed in the vicinity for the purpose of preventing anything like an armed uprising. LAC PARLfi. I Special Correspondence of the Globe.) Lac qci Parle, Oat. 2$. — The political pot has been boiling over for the last few weeks, but the parties are quieting down a little, and seem to be exhausted after the great con test, and are now waiting anxiously for the verdict. All strife for getting more votes seems to be over. Young Arctander, a brother of our district attorney, John W. Arctander, spoke here last Saturday night on the tariff, and made a clever argument on that side of tbe question. He is to stump Renville county this week in favor of Major Strait. Regular freight trains will soon be run ning on the new road. Elevators are being erected all along the line and will soon be ready to receive wheat. There has been a sudden stop in moving houses from this village ou to tbe new road, the rain and frost last week made it impossible for the house movers to continue their work. MUNTICELLO.
