Kawson, telegraph operator on the Harlem line at Niuty-eigbth street, and Conductor Root nnd Brakeman Robbins, of the wrecked New Haven train, have been arrested. Rawson is only eighteen years old, yet he holds the responsible position of managiag all trains of the cempany that run hrough the tunnel between Eighty-sixth and INinty-eighth streets, his station being the telegraph office at Ninty eighth street. The New Haven comany claims that Rawson ahould have detained the Harlem traia until he received a signal from Eighty-sixth street that the Port Chester train had passed that station. Heavy Failure. Dublin, Sept. 2o. The failure is reported of a commercial firm of long standiug. The name is not given. Liabilities are estimated at from 100, 000 pounds to 400,000 pounds. Later.
