Miss Ruth Roderick returned Monday evening from a few days visit in Joplin. Ilerron Westbay left night for a few days Monday visit in Wichita, Kan. Misses Grace and Theresa DeBros.se returned Monday night from Springfield, where they visited their sister, Mrs. Will Smithmier, for several days. The B. Y. P. U. will give a lawn social at the home of Mrs. Suratley on Sixth street, Wed nesday evening. Everyone in vited. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. J. C. Wil helm and Miss Nellie Mills de parted Tuesday for Lake Geneva, Wis., for a two weeks outing. Mr. Wilhelm wiil attend the summer school for Railroad Y. M. C. A. Secretaries and will take the examination. Cass Mulrenin, who had been visiting relatives here for a few days, returned Monday to his home in Fayetteville, Ark. Paul Mulrenin accompanied him home for a visit. Bob Cooper and S. P. De Lano are in the city taking subscrip tions for the Daily News Herald. The Herald reaches the city at 4:20 each afternoon and will be appreciated by all who want the early news of the day. Miss Elsie Robbins returned Monday evening from a visit to her brother, Bert Robbins and family at Clare-more, Ok. Mrs. Robbins is very sick and her re covery is doubtful. The three children accompanied Miss Elsie home. M. J. Puett, Superintendent of the new ice plant, presented a set of dishes to the Woman's Un ion. The ladies are truly thank ful for this kindness and take this opportunity to say that any thing else in this line will be gratefully received Proposal for Depository of City Moneys and Funds Notice is hereby given that up to 8 o'clock p. m. on Tuesday the 22od day of July, 1!)13, the Council of the City of Monett, Missouri, in conformity to the provisions of Article 4, of Chapter 84 of the Revised Statutes of Mis souri, of 190!), and an ordinance No. 445 of said city approved Sept. 11, 1911, will receive sealed proposals from any banking- corporation, asso ciation or individual banker doing business in the city of Monett, Mis souri, for deposit of the moneys and funds of said city of Monett, which proposals must be delivered to the City Clerk of said city on or before 8 o'clock p. m. of said date. Each bid shall be for the whole of said moneys and funds and shall state the rate of interest offered on the moneys and funds of said city of Monett, for the term expiring on the 2nd Tuesday of July next ensuing, the said date of receiving bids, said interest to be computed upon the daily balance to the credit of said city of Monett, with the depository and to be paid to the treasurer of said city of Monett, Mis souri, on the first day of each month. Each of said bids shall be accompa nied by a check in favor of said city of Monett, on some solvent - banking corporation, association or individ ual banker of said city, for not less than $100,00 as a guarranty of good faith on the part of the bidder that if its or his bid shall be accepted by the city council it or he will enter Into bond as provided by law. Bidders are required to cause their bids to be sealed, to be addressed to the said City Council in care of the Clerk of the City, and to be marked on the outside of cover "Bid for Deposit of City Moneys and Funds." All Wds received will be publicly opened by the Council at its meeting to be held at the city -hall in said city of Monett, Missouri, at 8 o'clock m. on the 22nd day of July aforesaid, and the Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
