BAND BOYS ASK FOR HELP A number of the Monett business men are regular contributors toward the support of the Boys Band, but they are not yet receiving funds sufficient to pay expenses. There are 48 pieces in the band. They ask the business men to help by paying the teacher and hall rent, which amounts to $75 per month for the director and $5.00 a month for tho hall. To date the contributions a mount to only $63 per month, the re mainder of which will have to be made up by the boys as they are learning to play. A visit to the hall each Monday and Thursday night will show what the boys are trying to do to get a good band for Monett The boys will call on all who are not on the list and give all an oppor tunity to help them to get a start. Work is needed, asked for. Good wages must be maintained, to meet living cost to tide over. Money must be spent wisely, of course. But it is not wisdom and is not pat- The Plus patriotism of Peace riotism to keep from buying needed things. Practical citizenship realizes that all good which came duringthe war by improving the earning capacity and therefore the living conditions of several million families must not be allowed to backslide to the old conditions, or worse. We must all help to keep them up. To Keep wages and morale up Why You Should Start at Once to Build or Remodel It is better to lose a little, it is better to pay some difference, because it is best for your community, and best for the country as a whole. When you buy, you help someone who helps someone else, and he in turn helps you. What higher figures still exist are due almost wholly to labor cost, which in turn is due to higher food prices which bid fair to remain high for several years. If you need a home or a building, if you have funds available, start the improvement at once. You can't make a mistake to buy, in the long run, and you can make the mis take of not buying now what you need' In order to stimulate and encourage building we have decided to figure and quote as low a price on your requirements in the building lir e as it is possible to to consistent with QUALITY AND SERVICE Home Building Is the Best and Safest Investment Today Building a home is always ths wisest investment a family can make. It brings many returns not t3 be calculated on a msre interest C3st bisis. You can make no better paying investment than by changing your house into a home. Make the dollars work for you and others.
