THE MONETT WEEKLY TJME& FRIDAY. NOVEMBER 24. 1922. BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT FREISTATT A beautiful wedding was solemn it d at Freistatt Sunday, November 19, When at 2:30 p. m. the wedding Veils rang at the Evangelical Luther Alt church for Miss Lydia Obermann, daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. David Obermann and Mr. Richard Worm, ton of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Worm. As the wedding march wa played by Prof. Biederweidcn, the brides iuAiut, His lliuheginl Worm and Miss Selma Holt, together with the groomsmen, Theodore Winter and Iruno Worm, took their respective places along the aisles. Next the flower girl, Elda Oberman, niece of the bride, marched forward directly in front of the bride and bridegroom. The bride was dressed in a snow white Peppolette and carried a beauti ful bouquet of white chrysanthemums nd fern. Rev. C. Bernthal performed the "Well known Lutheran ceremony. The young peoples' mixed choir rendered a beautiful song directed by Prof, fciederweiden. Immediately after the ceremony a meption took place at the residence of the bride's parents. The home was decorated with white and pink crepe paper and a large white bell. Mr. and Mrs. Worm received many beautiful and useful presents. At 5 o'clock a bountiful supper was serv ed. On the table was a large angel lood wedding cake" decorated with tarnations, chrysanthemums and ferns. Immediately after supper a hymn was sung and collection, $18.90, was taken up for the Institution. Prof. Biederweiden and his choir sang three beautiful songs for the young couple. The out of town guests were Miss Selma Holt and Theodore Winter, of kawville, 111., Mr. and Mrs. D. Mor Winkl and family, of Lockwood; Mr. and Mrs. Wessel and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Chumbley, of Peirce City. Mr. and Mrs. Worm will locate two and a half miles southwest of Frei statt, where they will be at home to their many friends. One Present. HAZEL DELL Several from this community are attending the meeting at Antiocn. Dan Brattin Jr. has been very sick but is much improved at this time. ML-s Eulah Montgomery and Hu bert Garrison were the plasai:t cal lers of Jaunita Bowman Sunday afternoon. Mrs. J. T. Sallee and Mis3 Lizz;e Sallee are on the sick lis: this week with bad colds. Miss Juanita Bowman spent Satur day night with Miss Eugenia Johnson and Sunday Miss Eugenia returned nome with her. Mrs. L. R. Packwood made a busi ness trip to Monett Monday afcernoon Mrs. Ross Cole is much improved she has geen suffering from tonilitis. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sapp and family visited grandma Ray Sunday. Hazel Dell and Clark basket ball will play a game at this place Friday evening. We are" hoping that Haze'. Dell wins the game. Mrs. T. J. Brattin visited her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. J. T. flallee Sunday. DOSS A number from this place are at tending the meeting at New Church. Mr. and Mrs. George Reed visiteds Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Sapp. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lasley and chil dren visited with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Lasley, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Corn are the parents of a baby girl Lorn Nov. 9th. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ferguson visit d with the Misses Phillips Sunday. Mr. and Mr3. W. A. Florey and 'daughter Beth, of Exeter were visit ing in this neighborhood Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore and Children visited at Elmer Tuckers Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Davidson were Visiting at Crane the latter part of the week. SOUTH JENKINS There seems to be quite a lot of sickness in this neighborhood. Sherman Riddle of Monett attended Sunday school at Clio Sunday. He will teach a singing school tneie. Dr. Perriman was called to at tend Mrs. W. H. Daugherty Sunday afternoon, she is very sick. Miss Wilhelmina Bradley left Wed nesday for Monett to stay with Mrs. Fred Wolfe. Mrs. Elmer Bolin who underwent an operation at the Ozark hospital at Aurora is reported to be doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson and daughter Mildred visited Mr. and Mrs Geo. Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Troy Eden and chil dren Lewis and Lois are visiting their parents Mr. and Mrs. James Eden. Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Bolin and daughter Iris visited their parents Mr and Mrs. Geo. King Sunday. We are very sorry to report the deaths in our community on Nov. 9. of Mrs. Geo. Blythe and Nov. 12 of Miss Velma Allen the bereaved ones have our sympathy. Mrs. Mary Daugherty visited Mrs. D. F. Hudson Tuesday afternoon. OBITUARY - Mrs. Frank D. Davis, nee Eniz A Chubb, was born at Casnovia, Mich., January 4, 1863. She was married to Frank D. Davis, July 23, 1883. They were the parents of four children, all of whom died. Frances died at Mo nett and is buried here in Oakdale cemetery. She is survived by her de vpted husband and two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Davis began work for the Frisco railroad company in 1889 and he and his wife moved to Monett at KINGS PRAIRIE SCHOOL NOTES By Lee Carlin. The members of the "A" and "B" classes have received their gradecards for this quarters work and all made satisfactory grades with three ex ceptions, those who failed attended ir regular. ' The requirement of this quarter to be a Regular was 93 per cent in de portment and 85 per cent in the Cur riculum. For next quarter the re quirement was set by the regulars j themselves in a class meetingMonday ' that time. They made their home i 94 per cent in deportment and 86 per here for many years, Mr. Davis, be ing an engineer. At the time of his wife's death, Mr. Davis was working out of Afton, at which place they were making their home. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were both mem bers of the Presbyterian church at Monett, but took their membership to Springfield when they moved to that place. Mrs. Davis was a member of Eve Rebekah lodge and the G. I. A. lodge at Monett. Mrs. Davis suffered a stroke of paralysis when she lived 'at Monett. This and complications was the cause of her death on November 37, at Afton, Okla. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Davis' brother, G. H. Shriner, at Lebanon, Sunday after noon, November 19, and interment was made at that place. A number of friends from Monett, Springfield, Enid and Afton, Okla., went to Lebanon to attend the funeral Mrs. Davis was a most excellent Christian woman and had many friends wherever she went. cent in curriculum. Mr. Williams of the Western Electric Supply Co., of St. Louis, gave us a talk on Electric Lijrhts, there will he an election held on Dec. 4th, and we hope the people will get busy and vote for lights. W. L. Ash is repairing the Baptist WEST PRAIRIE George and Joe Bauman attended court at Cassviile last week. Baptist Bertalot has purchased and erected a new wind mill on his place. Claud Stubblefield is working in Monett. Mr. and Mrs. Orville McCormick and son Cleo took dinner with E. D. Parker and family Sunday. E. W. Wallen had his cows tested this week.
