jild given to the Democratic party by
the 1'rohlbitionists.
Now, the Itepuhlican party favors in
their platform an amendment to the
Constitution striking out the anti-license
Haiisc, which, If accomplished, would
leave the whole mailer ill the hands of
the people, through the Legislature, to
prohibit, license, tax-, or regulate. To
this the Prohibitionists are violently op
posed. Their arguments against it are
lull of vinegar. They have only words
of hittcruerS for their opponents, and
no zealous nru they that the leaders are
ready and seemingly anxious to jump
suit of the frying pan Into the tire.
They have, nominated a ticket they do
Mot expect to elect, but, as Dr. Leonard
puts it, they want to chastise thu He
publican patty. And how does the

Legislature thu rood bill passed thu
