Charles McGarry, who formerly lived in Rich IIiH during his child' hood and youth, was shot and killed in Kansas City last Friday night by John M. Ladd. Both men roomed at a house kept by a Mrs. Anna I Oldham. Ladd quarreled with the landlady and McGarry took her part, and the shooting resulted. The funeral ot McGarry was held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from Wagner's chapel, 1409 Grand avenue. Rev. J. W. Ball, uf the Lutheran church, preached the ter mon. It was larcely attended. The mother and brother of the deceased, who live at Blue Springs Mo., were present. The moth;r is an old woman. She took the death cf her son very hard and during the funeral service she Wcame nearly prostrated with grief. Alfred C Menny, manager cf the People's Ice Company, attended the funeral. He made a lew le matkt in which be spoke very high ly of the deceased. Mr. Menny said that McGarry hvl worked for his company for twelve year and that be had always found him faith ful, iiulustiiou and honest.
