The community was shocked last Saturday to hear that J. M. Douglas was dead as a result of an ever dose of laudanum The faneral took place Sunday. He left a wife and two grown chil dren. The potato crop is immense. There is some very nico peaches in the valley this year. There was a big crop of cherries, and there is ripe cherriea in market yet. R. Darnell and Miss Saliie L. Huckeby were united in marriage Wednesday evening, Oct. 2, 1907, at 8 o'clock p. m., at the parsonage of the Walnut St., M. E. Church, Rev. A. G. Keast performing the ceremony. The wedding was a very quiet affair only the immediate family of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. Will Pontious being present. After the ceremony they went ! at once to their beautiful sabur ban home which Mr. Darnell liad recently fitted up for their re ception and where Dr. and M rs. Cromwell had everything in readiness for them. The groom is well known to tne people of Rich Hill and needs no eulogies at our hand, while the bride is the daughter of Postmaster Huckeby and car sister, and certainly we wish our "kin folks" all happiness.
