Satisfactory Growth of the Downing* town Industrial School Noted. Dowulngtowu. Pa.—The Downing town Industrial and ✓ Agricultural school of this town recently opened under the most favorable circum stances in its history. The enrollment of students for the first three weeks "as three times more than for a simi lar period since t lie beginning of the school. The dormitories are all filled, und the faculty has hud to refuse ad mission to scores. The Lincoln university preparatory class is ttie largest in the history of the school. The growth of the school has now enabled the management to properly dlv'.ae the institution into sev eral departments, each having its own principal. The school is fortunate in securing the services of the Rev. Samuel J Hrunch as principal of the department of «*dueatlon. Professor Branch Is an expert In his line and brings to the school not only skill and knowledge, but years of experience ns a successful teacher. Miss Bessie Collins is in charge of tlie domestic sclenee. millinery and dressmaking departments and is well qua lifted for the position. Miss Collins was formerly supervisor of the Indus trial work under the management of the Jeanes fund Downingtown deems Itself fortunate In securing her serv ices. The commercial department is under the direction of Mrs. Effle Palmer King, who Is not only qualified through training and years of experience, but Indeed has inherited from her illustri ous father. William King is in charge of the agricultural department and is also principal of the night school. The double work gives him the largest op portunity for the display of agricul tural skill and literary pursuit.
