ADVERTISING METHODS.
Large Field For the Afro-Amer- *
ican Agent, Says Holsey. «
Albon Lewis Holsey, who Ims '
had considerable experience as •
advertising manager for roe f’ri- I
sis Magazine, believes that there *
is a large field for the Afro- I
American advertising agent who •
acts as a medium between pa-
pers published by members of
the race and the large advertis- h
ing agencies. j
If these agencies could be made «i
to see the value of advertising in
papers published by the colored
race they would no doubt place j
large advertising contracts with A
our agents to be distributed j
among race papers. j
The above is the general meth
od adopted by Hunter C. Haynes, A
whose work in securing adver- 4
tisements for race papers has S
given him u clearer insight into 3
the rather difficult problem of j
placing matter from the big ad J
verthilng agencies with our pub-
Ushers. A
Mr. Haynes would like to get j
in touch with every editor and A
publisher of the race who desires
to secure good paying advertise- «|
meats for his publications. The j
Haynes Advertising agency is at j
115 Nassau street. New York.
If Mr. Haynes is able to sub- j
tain his business through the 1
building up period he will then j
be in position to greatly assist ]]
editors and publishers iu build- j
lng up a reliable paying adver-
tising business foi*thelr periodi- j
cals. Ills methods are correct and J
progressive. j
Confidence is a great factor In j
the advertising business. Uni- J
form rates and a true statement ]
of the circulation of a paper are j
essential elements in every par- J
tlcular. Mr. Haynes is a mem- j
her of the National Negro Press J
association and is much inter- j
ested in its work. j

“Poro” College
3100 Pine St. St Louis, No.
THK "PORO" SYSTEM of Scalp and
1 Hair treatment is based on the lot
est scientific and sanitary methods,
effecting a healthy scalp thus promot
ing a growth of beautiful hair.
The “Poro” preparations used in con
nection with the treatment are made
and sold exclusively by myself, having
the exclusive right to that name; and
i, alone, know the secret of the com
position that bears that name. Our
claim has always been that when the
hair begins to grow as the result of
the use of “RORO, ” it will
continue to do so if only thescalp
and hair be knot clean. This san
itary method o. treatment is also
having the desired effect in helping
to prevent the spread of diseases, for
it is a fact that hair in an unsanitary
condition carries the germs of disease
which often prove fatal to innocent
persons coming in contact with them.
