A dispatch says George J. Gould may
dispose of his New Jersey estate and
come to Colorado to live. What a chance
that will give Colorado’s boot lickers.
A sou and heir to the Spanish Throne
was born on the 10th. They were as en
thusiastic over the event over in Spain
as though something had happened, but
the universe never slipped a cog.
June 22nd has been set for “Straw
berry day” at Glen wood springs. From
the looks of the weather the good people
of Glenwood Springs will have to turn
the festival into a barbecue,as the straw
berries wont even be in bloom yet, at
this rate.
The report that the Steamboat Springs
townsite, springs, ad lib, had been sold
to an eastern syndicate, who were going
to expend millions of dollars in making
of it a great health resort, turns out to
bo untrue—at least no one at Steamboat
seems to know anything about it.
An effort is being made by Deputy,
Fish and Game Warden, N. V. Roberts,
to stock Larimer county with pheasants
to take the place of quail, which are
fast disappearing. It is claimed the
pheasant is a more hardy and better
game bird, as well as a rapid multiplier.
E. A. Meredith, resident engineer of
the Moffat road, accidentally fell into
the Grand riverou Saturday of last week
and as a result of the plunge into the
icy water, he died Sunday morning.
Mr. Meredith was suffering from pneu
monia at the time and should have been
in bed instead of working. lie was a
man of exceptionable ability”.
