The Spaulding High School Athletic Association netted f 21 as a result of their concert and social at the school building last evening. A fine entertainment was given and the class in physical cultnre gave its drill. Ice cream and cake were served to a large number. The death of Eliza Li Turner, aged sixty-four years, widow of Curtis Turner, oc curred yesterday at her home at 5 I.arr street, Slontpelier. Mrs. Turner has had several shocks and has been confined to her bed for the past year. She was the mother of James Turner, a painter, of Montpelier. A. A. Stebbins, the billing clerk in the Montpelier & Wells River freight office in Montpelier comes to Barre next week to temporarily take the plaee made vacant by the resignation of W. M. Hepburn in the general ollice of the Montpelier A Wells River railroad in this city. Mr, Hepburn goes to Chicago soon, and later will go to St. Louis to attend the exposi tion. George M. Douglass repot ts to have lost about forty dollars' worth of clothing from a dry closet in the top of the East man block where he rents a tenement. The clothes were taken about l.,"0 o'clock Friday morning. Mr. Douglass heard a noise in the room and going out saw a man disappearing down the stairs.
