James, who will be starred in the play In his orig inal character of Douglas. GOWN GOSSIP. The craze for Jet, which is at Its height in Paris at present, Is beginning; to be felt here. The shortening of the skirt means the parsing of the full sleeve. The two cannot artistically exist together. The fashionable fur next season, say the importers, will be mole. Already it ts fashionable in Europe, and Ameri can furriers have placed immense or ders for it. In making up tussore or shangtung powns it should be remembered that these materials fit better and look trimmer if made with plaits which are stitched flat at least part of the way. The fad for oriental effects is in creasing. Ecru linen suits are trimmed with oriental gimps and galloons, and even with bits cut out of old oriental embroideries, the older and more faded the better. The full skirt is certainly coming back.
