Ist evening the Ladies Auxiliary, A. O. II., held a dance in the Knight of Columbus hall in the Seampini building. There was a large attendance. Riley's orchestra furnished music for the danc ing. Refreshments were served to the party during the evening. On Sunday evening at St. Monica's church, Prof. Timothy Drake of Boston, the well-known lecturer on the Passion play, who has lieen touring Vermont, will deliver an address, accompanied with stereopticon views. Prof. Drake will lec ture on Ohberammergati and the Pas sion play. A good crowd attended the auction jle at the Rock place in Orange yesterday and good prices prevailed. Yearlings brought from $1(1 to $25 per head. About two acres of potatoes, a light crop, sold for $75; rather a poor quality of Jiy sold for $10.75 at the barn; farming tools brought good prices. Dan A. Perry acted as auctioneer. The teaclners' bazaar for the benefit of the teachers' retirement fund will be held in the vestry of the l"niveralist church Saturday afternoon and evening, October 18, instead of in Miles' hall, as previously announced. Donations for the sale of fooil, household articles, fancy work, candy, and dolls will be gladly re ceived. All such contributions may be given to any teacher in the city nchools or may be left at the I'niversalist ves try the Friday evening or Saturday morning before sale. The F. D. Ladd Co. has installed an up-to-date sealing machine which will be utilized in wrapping the bread product from the company a liakerv. The ma chine has a large capacity for enclosing each loaf in the paralhne paper wrap- pers in a way much more sanitary than I the old method 01 touting by hand. Once wrapped in paper by the machine, the loaf is hermatically sealed and remains air-tight until unwrapped by the con sumer.
