State's Attorney G. F. Ladd is fol
lowing up the violators of the Sunday
closing law and hereafter the stores in
St. Albans will be ckmed except for two
hours every Sunday. Prosecutions will
follow if any of the stores are kept open
for more than the alloted time.
A school for the blind was opened
Wednesday at the Stranahan Memorial
club at St. Albans. Three pupils were
present and two more are exacted. Miss
Annie Connelly of New York is the in

Mrs. Surah Hiiynes Graves of Hard
wick, although 1)0 years "Bid, reads with
out gliisnes, is in perfect health and
helps with the daily duties about .the
house.
William Dunn, 25 years old, of Spring
field, Mass., formerly of St. Johubury,
committed suicide recently by shooting
himself in the forehead with a revolver.
He had teen despondent for some time.
He is survived by his wife and one son.
The body was taken to Lyndon Center
for burial. ' .
Will Ladtie of Lincoln went to Ripton
on a hunting expedition and took the
abandoned steam mill property at the
foot of Bread Loaf mountain as his
headquarters, putting up his horse in one
of the buildings, while he hit the trail.
Upon his return, he found the animal,
valued at $10(1, had been shot and killed.
There were three bullet holes in the
side of the building. -
Miss Anna Barry, formerly of Bel
lows Falls, has received the veil at
St. Joseph's convent in Rutland and will
become a Sister of St. Joseph. She has
been at the convent sine last August
preparatory to entering the sisterhood.
Miss Harry formerly taught in the Bel
lows Falls public schools. She is a grad
uate of the Bellows Falls high school and
the Castleton State Normal school. She
resigned from her duties in Bellows Falls
last spring after teaching there for five
years.
