AFTER THE MELONS ! Four Young Men Arrested for Get ting Watermelons. They Are Bound Over to Appesr at Conrt This Fall. BERRY AND SLADE THEIR VICTIMS A YYIiolom LfMon to the Festive Kid AVlio tioes Into Melon Patches Without PTiuis2oti. The melon colic lays have come. The saddest of the year When all the festive kills are dumb To any Id. id. of fear. Accordingly the little kids, the pretty ki Is and the older k'uls ate going for the " A-iteiniiliion" patches, and the owneis of said patches are troing for them. It li?ts been decreed by common con sent that it is not much harm to steal a watermelon, hut that all depends whether or not the owner of the patch gets afte yen. In police court this moraing George Thompson, George Caudle, Dave Uarbce and Will McDadu were arraigued for stealing melons, or, rather, for entering a melon patch belonging to IJd Kerry am a Mr. Slade, and there eating melons be longing to the said plaintiffs. The court bound them over, holding t'lem in the sum of $2 5 each. Whether they all gave bonds we couh not learn. Kut anyhow, this will doubt less prove a wholesome lesson to the gay and festive kids who steal melons from other people. If they did not steal the melons it looks a though they might have been ready to steal them, so they will take their medi cine like little men, we hope, when the court meets. The Ladies. The pleasant effect and perfect safely w ith which ladies may use the California liquid laxative Syrup of Figs, under al conditions, makes it their favorite remedy To get the true and genuine article, look for the name of the California Fig Syrup Co., printed near the bottom of the pack age. The first day will be devoted entirely to busi ness of the association ; on Thursday, the 27th, the department here will entertain the visitors with an excursion to Caro lina Beach. It is a matter of regret to the firemen of Wilmington, as well as to many other citizens, that owing to circumstances over which they have no control, suitable arrangements for the annual tournament could not be nride. A recent discovery 13 that headache, dizziness, dullness, confusion of the mind, etc., are due to derangement of the nerve j centers which supply the brain with nerve force that indigestion, dyspepsia, neuralgia. r wind in stomach, etc., arise from the derangc- ment of the rarve centers supplying these or gans with nerve fluid or force. This 13 likewise true of many diseases of the heart and lurr. The nerve system Is like a telegraph system, as will be 6eea by the accompanying cut. j ne ii i lie white lines are the nerves which convey the nerve force from the nerve centers to every part of the body, just as the electric current i3 conveyed along the teleiraph wires to every station, large or small. Ordinary physicians fail to regard this fact; instead of treat ing the nerve cen ters for the cause o f the disorders arising therefrom they treat the part affected. Franklin Miles, M. D., LL.B., the highly celebrated specialist and student of nervou9 diseases, and author of many noted treatises on the latter subject, long since realized the truth of the first statement, and his Kestorativo Nervine is prepared on that principle. Its success in curing all diseases arising from derange ment of the nervous system is wonder ful, as the thousands of unsolicited testimo nials in possession of the company manufac turing the remedy amply prove. Dr. Miles' Itestorative Jservine is a reliable, remedy for all nervous diseases, such ;is headache, nervous debility, prostration, sleeplessness, dizziness hysteria, sexual de bility, St. Vitus dance, epilepsy, etc. It Is sold oy all druggists on a positive guarantee, or sent direct by the Dr. Miles Medical Co., Elkhart, Ind., On receipt of price, SI per bot tle, six bottles for $3, express prepaid. For the last ten years I have been compounding prescriptions as fol lows : All prescriptions from a doctor are compounded by one man and checked bv another; the label is written and checked in the same way, ihus preventing any mistake in compounding or writing the direc tions on the label. The package is then neatly wrapped and tied with cord, then sealed in four (4) places with red sealing wax. Should any one tamper with the package, they will be obliged to break one or more of these seals. I have found that this method meets with the approval of both doctor and patient, especially so when the patient is an invalid. It assures them that the medicine is just as it Ielt the druggists hands. Please see that ALL PRESCRIP TIONS coming from my store are properly tied and sealed. If not, please report to me at once. Send me your prescriptions. That is my specialty. They wiil receive imme diate attention, and be filled by the most approved methods known to modern pharmacy.
