THE BOYS ARE IN IT Properly Owners Say That Tlu-y Are a Trillo Too Gay. They Hrfak Holts on Iloors and Take All in Sight. RLCENT ESCAPADES IN THIS CITY The Lrary Horse Kntered by the Young ItrfH n and tle "Entire Huilding irc a'ly IJ:im: Red. Every day there conies to The Globe wild and woody stories of the escapades of the boys about town white bos and colored boys, equally defiant of the rules of decency and good breeding stories which e.iue the looker on as well as those interested to wonder where were the pa rents of these same boys while the depre dations and w ilful destruction to property by these young hi Hi mis was going on. If l lie attention of the band was con lin'.d alone to the watermelon patch and buck orchard, it would not be so bad liut they go further. One day they steal the globes from the electric ligh's iu the First Baptist church ; the next they throw a ball through the wii lows of a private residence or into the face of a scary hoise going along the street, and when a house happens to be discovered unoccu pied, there is no bolt nr bar which can prevent the lawless g.ng of youthful thieves and house breakers from entering and taking all in sight. The last case where property has been K-riously damaged bj- the unlicensed oc e upancy of the young savages, is that of the J.eary house, on Cleveland street. The present owners, Messrs. Lloyd and Taylor, have been put to no end of an noyance and expense by the frequent depredations of the uncivilized young-, sters, who have made of it a rendezvous for the most daring and unprincipled of tne aug, breaking glass in the windows, fastenings on the shutters, locks on the doors, and drawing hideous figures all over the walls, in fact d in everything that could be conceived by the fertile imagination of a young liend whose only study is to do all the mischief in his power. A telephone message to Mr. Lloyd a few days ago, sent by a neighbor, advised him to send down and see after his house, as the boys were about to carry oil the building. When his man arrived, he found every door in the house wide open, the bath tubs full, the doors flooded and the water turned on with full force. In the nit ii ntime the culprits had lied and were not to be found. Of course it is ( asy euough to locate the offenders, but as they are children of reputable parents, they have not been called down as they should have been and will be later if there is not a speedy reform. The Ladies. The' pleasant effect and perfect safety with which ladies may use the California liquid laxative Syrup of Figs, under all conditions, makes it their favorite remedy. The intelligence that the Erie road had been placed in the hands of receivers, although by no means unexpected, was a shock to confidence and started an indiscriminate selling movement through the list. Or ders were received from various quarters to sell and many brokers who could not reach their customers iu time threw their stocks overboard rather than take any further chances under the circumstances. The State Fireme n's Association met yesterday morning in the court house in Wilmington and was welcomed iu an ad dress by His Honor Mayor Fishblate. The resporfce was ma le by Mr. T. A. All sorts of wild iiowers are chosen for lace pins, hair ornaments anel small buckles; sprays of valley lilies, single blossoms ef hawthorn, pimpernel, duckweed., speeelwell, geranium and heather, in gold or silver set with gems. A row of daisies, alternately frosted gold with a pearl heart, or with diamond chips, clus tered on silver, make pretty brooches and bangles. Flowei's are also com bined with insects; for instance, a tiny bulrush in diamonds pereheel upon a twig of hollv in enamel; a spider, with an opal-gray pearl of Labrador stone for his body, is clinging with his many eliamonel-set legs to a golden leaf. The newest thing in single flowers is the bee-orchkl anel the narcissus. The former may have its purse-like cup covered with little sapphires, anel the petals in eliamonels, or vice versa. The narcissus is in plain burnished gold with a brilliant in its center, or in dia ruonds and topazes. N. Y. Post. His Size. Countrj-man (in dry floods store) want a collar. Clerk What size? This is likewise true of many diseases of the heart and lunes. The nerve systemlslike a telegraph system, as will be seen by the accompanying cut. une nttie white lines are the nerves hich convey the nerve force from t h o nerve centers to every part of the body, fust as the electric current i3 conveyed alon? the telegraph wires to every station, large or small. Ordinary physicians fail to regard this fact; instead of treat ing the nervecen tera for the cause o f the disorders arising therefrom they treat the part affected. Franklin Miles, M. D., LL.B., the highly celebrated specialist and student of nervous diseases, and anther of many noted treatises on the latter subject, long since realized the truth of the first statement, and his Restorative Nervine is prepared on that principle. Its success in curing all diseases arising from derange ment of the nervous system is wonder ful, as the thousands of unsolicited testimo nials in possession of the company manufac turing the remedy amply prove. Dr. Miles' Restorative Nervine Is a reliable remedy for all nervous diseases, such in headache, nervous debility, prostration, sleeplessness, dizziness hysteria, sexual (la bility. For the last ten vc&rd I have been compounding prescriptions as fol lows : All prescriptions from a doctor are compounded by one man and checked by another; the label is written and checked in the same way, thus preventing any mistake in compounding or writing the direc tions on the label. The package is then neatly wrapped and tied with cord, then sealed in four (J) places with red scaling wax. Should any one tamper with the package, they will be obliged to break one or more of these seals. I have found that this method meets with the approval of both doctor and patient, especially so when the patient 'is an invalid. It assures them that the medicine is just as it left the druggist's hands. Please see that ALL PRESCRIP TIONS coming from my store ere properly tied and scaled. If not, please report to me at once. Send me your prescriptions. That is my specialty. They will receive imme diate attention, and be filled by the most approved methods known to modern pharmacy.
