ISrock (Joes to Jail with His Wounded Head, WHILE BANKS WALKS ABOUT FREE THE TOLLING OF TRINITY'S BELL People Who Come and Go lirief lirevi ties of Interest to All Header of The Globe. Promptly at 10 o'clock this morning his honor T. L. Peay resumed hearing the testimony of the case of State vs Wilkes Banks and Pomp Brock, and when it was completed, Attorney Boone arose and made an eloquent speech in behalf of his client, Banks. He said Banks could have killed Brock, and in the eyes of the law. be vindicated, as Brock followed up Banks after he had been thrown down and his revolver taken from him The mayor seemed to think both equally guilty, for he required each one to give a bond of $50 for their appear ance at the January term of Superior court. Banks gave bond without delay, while Brock, being without friends, had to go to jail in his enfeebled condition, which seems unfortunate, as it will re tard his recovery, and may result in his death. Brock is an inoffensive looking black negro, while Banks is an insolent, brazen looking mulatto, whom we under stand figured in several lights here last year. An Injunction. THE WEDDING BELLS King Merrily at the Quiet Old Town of Hillsboro. Dr, Yates Is the Recipient of a Valuable Souvenir. The wood is highly polished and beauti fully carved, with a space left for the word "Jerusalem" in Hebrew characters The summit is a quadruple Maltese cross in concave, and the cup holding the ink looks as if it had been blown into the wood. The doctor appreciates it very highly, and when he dips his pen into that inkstand we expect to hear it Ihun der. See the World's Fair for Fifteen Cents.
