Camilla deserved to be treasured like a precious Jewel, herself, yet she belonged to him and ne could not lift a finger to protect her from the slighiest need or raixiety. Kather. he had added to these. A fierce determi nation burned within him while he watched her happy face. He would give his sou) to keep her happy like that, always, he thought. • • • Mrs. Hoyt accepted the news of Camilla's position and her departure from tier home with resigned cheer fulness.
