) ASSOCIATED AMU CENTRAL PRESS SERVICE] REAL ESTATE RISE ' LOIED FOR SOON Confidence in Return of Values Is Being Express *l, ed Oftener Some hardening in real estate'values in the near future would not be sur prising to some observers of the mar ket here. Expressions of that kind have been heard recently from a num ber of people who may become seek ers after cheap propery as an invest ment and as a source of profit com ing from appreciating values, i It is pointed out that a number of individuals have cash reserves for ,Which they may at an early date seek investment, and that thon* may be more in that classification than is popularly supposed. While most peo l'e are suffering in varied degrees under the present inconveniences, there are many who are not “broke.” Probability that there may soon be -a further reduction of taxes on real estate would also make land values advance. Returning confidence on the jpart of the public in values of all hinds is also reived upon to have some effect upon the demand for land and •'real property in general- Now. and ihcn a transaction takes place that lias the earmarks of 'an investment purchase in real estate, und opinions are much more freely expressed that the market is likely to rise sooner than most people think. Moreover,* there is a belief in many quarters that values of virtually everything, including land, are likely !at the lowest levels now they will reach, and! that the immediate future would be the most advantageous time for action on the pa ft of those who would hedge for profits at the time when anything like normal l conditions do return again. Real estate people can point to many properties that can be had to day at "dirt cheap” prices, and there is a belief that some of these will not forever go unnoticed. At any rate there is a perceptible improvement" in the general attitude toward real icstate, and a pick-up in that market (Would not be surpris/ng to many who hold to that view.
