TO 12 NOON Woman’s Auxiliary Met on Wednesday The Woman’s Auxiliary of Spring Valley church met on Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. J. D. Cranford, with Rev. and Mrs. Cran ford as host and hostess. Mrs. W. L. Fleming was in charge of a very interesting program the subject of which was, “Christ Our Companion in Christine Citizenship.” Those present joined in singing "Faith of Our Fathers" which was followed by tlm drvotionals led by Mrs. Fleming, and the Lord’s Prayer, in unison. Mrs. Fleming made a very inspiring talk and the following discussions game in order, Obligation as Christian Citizens." by Blanche Hester, and “Our Christian Responsibility,” by Rev. Cranford. A business session followed. It was derided to have an oyster supper on November 15, and to send a former church member, who is in Ministerial school, a box. A committee was ap pointed for that and also one to send fruit to the sick. A social hour followed and the hos tess served delicious refreshments. The next meeting will be with Mrs. C. M. Young People Will Meet Friday The regular monthly meeting oi the Vance M. E. Young People s Un_ ion will be held Friday evening &t 8 o’clock at City Road M. E. The elec tion of next year’3 officers will take place in the business meeting. A large attendence from every church is expected. Mrs. Kimball Has Party Wednesday Mrs. D. Boyd Kimball, Jr., delight fu/y entertained at her home on West Garnett street yesterday morn ing at 11 o'clock, honoring Mi-ss Mit. tie Crudup. bride-elect of Saturday. Upon arrival, the guests were seat ed at three tables, arranged in rooms lovely with late fall flowers. for bridge. After several progressions were played and scores added. Mrs. Sam Watkins was awarded high score prize and Miss Annie Herbert Lamb, low score. At these tables the hostess served a delicious luncheon. After the sec ond course the guests were invited into the dining room, which was dec orated beautifully to carry out a brid al scheme. The table was covered with a lace cloth and centered by a lovely, tiered Bride’s cake. On each side of the cake burned white tapers and arranged behind it were large Shasta daises and fern. Around the cake, covering the entire table, wert many lovely and useful linen gifts for the honoree, brought by the guests tied with white ribbon and orange blossoms. Miss Crudup, who wore a beautiful two-piece Dubonnet suit with brown assesories, cut her cake first, and following each guest cut their slice, with which they were served ice cream. Schumann Club in Regular Meeting The Schumann Mu«ic Club held a most delightful meeting with Miss Peggy Moran yesterday afternoon at her home on Gholson Avenue. It was the first regularly monthly meeting of the year as the first meeting was a treasure hunt.
