E JOHNSON DIES AT MAGE OF 7G Native of Franklin County, But Lived Here 10 Years; Funeral Held. After being in bad health for sev eral months. Rufus Thomas John son. 7G. died at 7:05 o’clock Thurs day] evening in Maria Parham hos pital, where he had been a patient ten clays. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases. Mr. Johnson was a native of Franklin county, where he was born October 16, 1859. He had lived here for the past ten years, having been a resident of West Henderson. Surviving are four sons and seven daughters, as follows: C. W. and II R. Johnson, both of Henderson; W. T. Johnson, of Clearwater, Fla., M. H. Johnson, of Norlina; Mrs. E. H. Moore. Henderson; Mrs S. M. Crock er. Cary; Mrs. C. D. Macon. Wake Forest; Mrs. C B. Hinson, Durham; Mrs. V. Hasenauer, of Dong Island.' N. Y.; Miss Mary Jones Johnson, also of Long Island, and Miss Margaret Johnson, of Brooklyn, N. Y. Surviving also are two brothers, j. W. Johnson, of Meadsville, Pa..; and Benjamin Johnson, of Vance coun tv, and two sisters. Mrs. Furness Strother, of Franklinton. and N. C. Pace, of Franklin county. His par ents. William Johnson and Mary Straum Johnson, have been dead 20 years or more Mr. Johnson had been a merchant for a number of years and was known I by many people of this community. Funeral services were hold this afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at Plank Chanel Methodist Episcopal church at Bobbitt, in charge of Rev. E. Ti Nelson, paste’ of West Eng Baptist church, assisted by Rev. B. S. Miilsaps, of Statesville, EXHIBIT NEW TRAIN HERE SUNDAY WEEK Seaboard’s Streamliner Will Be Here Sunday Evening December 29. A public exhibition of the Seaboard Air Line railroad’s new streamlined, conditioned motor concih train will be given in Henderson Sunday week, December 29, from 6:30 to 9 p. m. The train will be parked at the Seaboard passenger station and vis itors will be welcomed to inspect it. This train is one of three similar coaches being put into service. One other will operate between Jackson ville and Tampa and one between Jacksonville, Tallahassee and River J unction. The train here will operate between Richmond and Raleigh, halving Rich mond in the morning at 8:05 o’clock and passing Henderson shortly after 11 a. m., arriving in Raleigh at 12:1." p. m. Returning north, the train will leave Raleigh at 4:15 p. m. arriving in Richmond at 8:20 o’clock, after stopping in Henderson shortly after 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
