Hats off to Health Officer (Mrs.) Soyars. She has an eye to the beau tiful and healthful and every good citizen is going to applaud her work. If Mrs. Soyars would " carry a kodak along and take pictures of the un sightly back yards and alleys and have them reeled off in the movies for High Pointers to see it would make even the most indifferent per son hang his head in shame. We cannot be too cleanly to have good health. mies or it wouldn't be worth a con tinental in the community but there are classes of liars and the man who lies in such instances as above is a pretty sorry fellow that's all you can mak out of him. In order that there may be no misunderstanding by our readers the editor will say that no newspaper man in High Point is guilty of such a practice, because all of them are friends of The Review and The Re view is a friend to them. And it has developed that a com bine is at work to keep the price of cotton down. Too bad, we have such inhuman people among us. Following out the proclamation of Governor Craig the city schools will observe Aibor Day Nov. 5th, which also happens to be the day the big circus visits High Point. He was told by a certain person that there was no weekly in town ''and that's the very paper I wanted to i;se" said the irate man, who pro ci eded to cuss a little.more and fin ally take liberal space in The Re view. Only recently a man had the nerve to tell us that he was told that the people didn't read a weekly paper. Strange, isn't it that thou sands of people pay the price of a weekly and then don't read what they pay for! The truth of the mat ter is that the weekly paper is es sentially a home paper a family paper if you please, and with but few exceptions is scanned thoroughly , by the "home folks" who like to read all the news once a week in a con densed form and are sure to let no item escape them. The person who do sn t READ a weekly is usually the person who OWES the editor for two or three year's subscription and he is the SAME fellow who doesn t READ ANY PAPER, if you believe What he says. Strange that any man who is en dowed wiih the intelligence of a flea will tell such a falsehood when he knows it is a falsehood, and when the truth would be far better. As the old saying goes, every knock is a boost and if such a person would rather lie than tell the truth, go it Rube, your latitude in free America is unlimited!
