Is it possible that in all Mon roe, only two fathers are interested enough to attend, or that we are sure of these two because they are teach ers also? Are only the mothers and the teachers concerned about the wel fare of the children? Are our fathers too busy with their work? If there was to be a good game of either baseball or football, could they not find time to leave their work? At different times the program commute has called upon gentlemen of the town for talks. Hie Progminnie, Including Eating, icaklng and Music Was Prepared, but Mother Nature Interfenvd A Billy Goat Banquet is perhap a new thing in this part of the moral vineyard, but that kind of a festival was pulled off near Marshvllle Wed nesday night. However, the heavy rainfall interferred to some extent with the program. The occasion was made possible through the generous proposition of Mr. J. M. Little to furnish the billy goat. The animal was killed and dressed Wednesday afternoon and the guests were invited to assemble at a tenant house on Mr. Little's plantation near Gilboa church for the feast. Mr. Browmlow Traywlck and Mr. Frank Brantley were expected to be on band with their fiddles to fur nish music for the occasion. The stock dealers of Marshvllle were among the Invited guests, and Mr. J. W. Hasty and Clayton Pene gar we,re employed to do the cook ing act. A speech or two was also booked and everything else necess ary to the occasion was arranged. But for the rain and snow it would have undoubtedly been one of the most successful social functions of the season, but old Mother Nature handed us a surprise and the guests were few. However, about thirteen of the faithful dared bravely to face the storm and the event was by no . means a failure. . . ;MiaW.i!W:itjj";;w:;.-:)lfit )",','"(;';" ;';';";i';jti;;ii;ji-;;ti;;irt;ii'i.iti1it..i;iri:iilii f":ii. ii'.l'tl.iii.'in. nr,iri ;i c n , ,l.,Ml,llll,l,ll.tll,.li.B.I..i.W,,II...H w WW a BRQ An Extraordinary Purchase of Ratinspun, Ratine, Colored Dress Linens and Suitings-Just Received Kiitinspun, all colors, yard rc Linen, nil colors, yard 1 .fl.25 Dress Suitings, yard 25 to 50c 8,000 yards, 0e Dress Ginghams, Large and Small Checks, Tlaids and Stripes, at 20c yard 10,000 yards, yard wide Chambrpys and Dress Ginghams, solid colors, Novelty Plaids and checks.
