Mr. A. J. Dills, Secty. .
Sylva, N. C.
Dear Sir:
Replying to your inquiry relating to the new court house at
Marshall, in Madison county, I beg to state that it is one of the
best in Western North Carolina. Almost every judge who has held
court at Marshall for the past several years has complimented the
people there upon having such a nice, new convenient court house
within which to transact the public's business. The people of
Madison county now take a great deal of pride in the new court
house and it has seemed to stimulate everybody and the county
has gone forward more rapidly since the new court house was
built than it did beiore. In my opinion there is no county in the
State in greater need of a new court house than Jackson County,
and I feel sure that every judge who has held court in Jackson
during the past several years will concur with me in this opinion.
