Webber. A large andienoe assembled at Christ ohuroh last night to hear Rev.PeroyC. Webber deliver bis farewell sermon ia Yankton, whiob sermon was the last of a series of grand instructive discourses on christian grace which Mr. Webber has preached in Yankton. As a farewell ser mon it brought thonghte of regret to the audience, as it annonnoed the faot that Mr. Webber inten. ed leaving Tank ton and the probabilities are that be may never be heard again by oar people. As a sermon it was a orowning effort of Mr. Webber's labors in Yankton, while the picture of heaven which he fashioned was indesoribably sublime. Mr. Webber does not believe in an unknown and strange bome for the righteous soul. Oa the oontrary, he believes in a perpe tuation of the life of earth, devoid of all sin and oare and grandly glorious. He talkB of the fullest gratification of all the desires of a redeemed soul, and fully expects that the heaven of the future is to be a real home, full of joy peace and rest forever. He pictures heaven as a place of almost in conceivable pleasure, felled with men women and obildren and alive with an imals of all descriptions. The walks of heavenly life shall be through beansiful surroundings. Flowers are to blossom on every hand and fragranoe far more fragrant than the sweetest scents of earth shall permeate the air. Bands ot angels and saints shall continually sing the glories of tbat life and men ahull fill the highest places to whioh their ambi tions imaginings have ever soared. In short, heaven is the plaoe where the christian oan have the slightest desire of his soul fully satisfied, and he enjoys those things forever. Heaven is indeed a beautiful plaoe if it corresponds with Mr. Webber's description and christians find deep pleasure in dreaming thut-it does. He was made a federal judge and he'discharged the duties ol that high and honorable position to the satisfac tion ot an exoeedingly able bar. This seems to settle tbe question ot his abil ity. He was in Arthur's cabinet and proved himself an able exeoative offioer and a man ol ideas and ooorage. He was then made United States oiroiiit oonrt judge, a position tbat he now oooupies. They know he ia an exoellent lawyer and that he will understand what his daties and powers are. He haa a per fectly olean reoori. He will be true to the people and people believe in him. I think he would be exoeedingly strong in New York atid all the eastern states. I am not saying anything against otber aspirants, bat I think, all things considered, that Gresbam is the ooming man. No man has a oleaner reoord, not even exoepting Senator Edmonds.
