The Tribal Council passed a resolution providing that Navajos holding
permits for grazing livestock on tribal lands may make Wills. This would
enable persons named in the wills'to receive the grazing permits after the
death of the holders. The court of Indian Offenses must approve the wills.
In cases where no will has been made claim permits among survivors will
be in the following order; (1) Surviving spouse, if not (2) Surviving
children, if not (3) Surviving grandchildren, if not (4) Surviving parents,
if not (S) Surviving brothers and sisters, if not (6) Surviving nieces
and nephews, if not (7) Distribution to the people of the district grazing
pool by the district supervisor. The resolution also provides that no will
shall be approved or distribution made to any person not enrolled with the
Navajo Tribe.

EARTH AND STAR3_G ITS MUCH TO THINE AB' TJT
George A. Boyce
Before the first white man came to America only a few wise men believed
that the earth was round. The other white people believed that the earth was
flat. They, thought too that the earth stood still and that the sun went over
and around the earth.
We now know that the earth is round. It does not have a smooth surface.
But it is like a huge and rough ball of rock and clay. Many travelers have
sailed'around the earth and. come back to the same place. In this war, some
Navajo soldiers sailed east from New York. Some other Nava.io soldiers
sailed west from California. They met each other on the- other side because the
earth is round.
)
It is twenty five thousand miles around the earth. If there were land all ]
the way and a man walked twenty five miles a day, it would take him three years
of steady walking to go round the earth.
On the surface of the earth there are great waters. To the west is the
great water called the Pacific Ocean. A fast ship takes six days to cross
this ocean. On the other side of the Pacific ocean are the lands called
Australia, Japan, China, and Russia.
To the rast of the United States is the great water called the Atlantic
Ocean. A fast ship requires five days to cross this water. On the other side
of the Atlantic Ocean are the lands called England, Germany, Italy,, and many
others.
Avery bay the earth, spins. It keeps turning like a dizzy man. In the day
time the earth spins us around so that we face the sun and we have light. In
the night time, the earth spins us around so that we are away from the light
and it is dark.
