They place a high value on time. In fact many of the things they have would be impossible if they did not measure their time carefully, and make the best possible use of it. This is something that white children learn early in life. Another thing they must learn is dependability and responsibility. If the men who have to do with airplanes and trains were not dependable and responsible men they would not be hired in their jobs, because a single mistake can cause the deatn of many people. Not all white people are re liable men and women, but those who have the best jobs are those who are the most reliable, and who have the greatest sense of responsibility. Men who drink on the job, do not show up for work, or who do not make the best possible use of their time, are the men who have the poorest jobs. This is something to remember if you want to get ahead in your off-reservation work.
