One cup sugar, 1 egg, 2 cups corn meal, 1-2 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla. HOME MADE RAISIN BREAD. One pint warm water, 1 pint warm sweet milk, 2 ounces sugar, 1 ounce salt, 2 ounces lard, 1 1-2 oanees yeast, 2 pounds "Not a Seed" raisins, 4 pounds flour. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix thoroughly and then treat as other bread dough. LEFT OVER FISH. Take left over fish already cooked, chop fine. Moisten with tomatoes; add 1-4 pound grated cheese, pepper and salt to taste. Make into cakes and All empty oyster shells. Bake in moderate oven. FRUIT PIN CH. Juice of 5 lemons, 1 pint of straw berries (canned will do), 1 pint pine apple, 1 cup tea, juice of 5 oranges, 1 pound sugar. Add water enough to make 1 1-2 gallons. POTATO DPUGHXCTS. Two cups boiled and sifted pota toes, 1 1-2 cups of sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon salt, 4 heaping teaspoons baking powder, small piece of butter, nutmeg. PEAR SALAD DE LUXE. Two-thirds quart corn meal, 1-3 quart flour, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1-2 teaspoon salt, 2 heaping tea spoons baking powder, 2 egg.?, 1 pint milk; sift together corn meal, flour, salt, sugar and powder, add beaten eggs and milk; mix into a smooth batter- Bake on hot griddle, till brown. Serve with maple syrup. -WALDORF SALAD. Mix 1 bowl each of apples, nuts and celery (tart apples and English yamuts) and serve on lettuce leaves with mayonnaise dressing.
