The" great affair was initiated -at 10 P.M. as Ike Quebec, tenor sax stylist, and his Blue Note Recording artists began to play their rendition of "How High The Moon". They1 are the proud parents of a son born in New Haven Hospital Thursday. N A few 'friends gathered in the home of Mrs. Edward Miller of Stevens Street to celebrate the birthday of Mr. Miller, on Saturday, Feb. 8th. A very enjoyable evening was had by all. i , The VV estviHe Masonic Tem ple was the scene of a Valentine Dance given by the Craftsman's Club Friday evening. A tre mendous capacity crowd gath- ered to make it a gala affair, long to be remembered,. - Underr stand this was the first dance given in years by the club. So it is compliments to the club for its elegant affair and I'm sure they will be having another one up their sleeves . for the near future. 1 . As I gazed over the crowd, I could see . a few guests from Waterbury, Ansonia, Bridge port and . . other . neighboring cities. From all indications my good friends, Mr. and Mrs. John Camp of .Waterbury and company were having a pleas ant evening. 1 Al Simmons and his boys did wonders on the music for the dancing pleasure. On the half hour after twelve, refreshnlerits we're served down stairs.1' Following the dance the Belmont RRestaurant served a delicious dawn breakfast. Many gathered there until the wee hours of the morning. If there's ever a whipping, Amos Thomas should remem ber its the one he received Thursday night at the Mu sician's Club. Even though it was a belated birthday whip ping, the boys didn 't have pity on him at all. Amos was on his way out of town when Richard Giles picked him up like a baby and carried 'him on the stage. The audience later sang Happy Birthday to Amos on his ? 1 ?
