The services next Sabbath will be jf unusual interest because at that ;ime the new deacon will be inducted into office. New member will be re vived in the church, following which will be the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Those to be admitted to Aurch membership are as follows: Miss Ophelia A. Beardsley, Miss Mary 3. Beardsley, Miss Bessie Bell, Mrs Bessie Ross Merwin, Miss Minnie R. Thickett, all by letter, and the fol lowing by profession of faith: Mrs Harry H. Taylor, Kenneth W. Boyn ton, Sperry M. Wilson, Henry B. Warner, Daniel T. Weaver, Donald E. Hungerford, Gerald R. Green, C. Ericsson Tripp. Friday, at 7.30 p. m., the service preparatory to communion will be held. At this meeting the committee appointed by the church, some time ago to bring in a nomination for the office of deacon, will report and ac tion by the church will be taken. At the Tuesday evening meeting several names were proposed for churcn membrship and the vote of the church taken. 1 The Christmas tree service held on Christmas Eve in the church was a very pleasant occasion and was en joyed by both young and old. The service was in charge of the follow ing committee: H. P. Boynhon, chair man, Miss Gertrude L. Riddiford, Mrs C. M. Beach, Miss Florence M. Nelson. FAMILY REUNION. -A happy family reunion, Christmas day, at the home of Mr and Mrs Jas per A. Northrop, included Mr ana Mrs Mott Goodsell and four children of Bethlehem, Mr and Mrs Arthur S. Taylor, William H. Northrop and four children, Mr and Mrs James A. Northrop and two daughters. A CHRISTMAS GATHERING. One of the most enjoyable and per fect Christmas gatherings held in town was that at the residence of Mrs Edwin Bostwick on Christmas day. The dinner was praised by everyone for its excellence. Those present included Dr and Mrs F. E. King and daughter, Fred Berry and family, Fred Howland and family, William Bostwick and family, Ar thur Bostwick and family, S. E. Bostwick and G. D. King of Bridge port. SECRET SOCIETY NOTES. A reziilar meetine of Palm Rebe- kah I-dge, No 43, will be held, Wed nesday evening, January 5. Business of impoi tance is to be transacted and members are requested to be present. A regular meeting of Henry Kin ney Camp, Nor 23, Sons of Veterans, will be held in G. A.IR. hall, Wed nesday evening, January 5. Officers for the ensuing year will be elected and installed David Miller, the Bank street merchant, reported the Christmas trade as first rate. Mrs W. H. Percy and son passed the Christmas holidays in Bridge port M. W. Hill, the genial jeweler, and Mrs Hill were confined to the house for l day or two with a severe cold. August Peelstrom, an employe of the New England house, has been on the sick list for a few days. W. S. Farrar of Selina, Kan., and Miss Elizabeth Farrar of New York are guests of Mr and Mrs A. K. Much praise is due the committee in charge, Misses Pheobe and Emma Smith, lor the success of the entertainment la bringing happiness into the hearts of so many children. Clark Lane, tho genial conductor on the Berkshire division, was 67 years old, the other day.
