The "Hoy Scouts" of Olson's and Hoherrer'S troops received instruction at the Armory last night on "Signal ing." This work is in charge of "Brud" Taylor of the National City Hank. Mr. Taylor will put the hoys through the work and conduct the tests which will enable the boys to graduate from the Tenderfoot" Mai-'-to the "Second Class" scouts. Senator Kenyon's bill would he a substitute for Hie coal control! hill in effect defeated by tin- Senate last summer and would give the federal trade commission broad power in supervising the coal industry. A companion bill would penalize profiteering in fuel and ilx operators and distributors profits. The maxi mum profit would he 50 cents a ton j and 40 cents for distributors. A grad ed system of profils was proposed, scaled according to volume handled, The hill also would give the com mission authority to inspect hooks of j operators and dealers, with a severe penalty for refusal. Another feature would provide a new federal broker age tax on brokers selling coal to other consumers, a feature designed to prevent pyramiding of prices.
