Aa IimI DMcrtptloa of the Hear atoarae "Yellow rcUew" Blcyelee. The 1896 models of the Stearns bi cycles, concerning whose features there has been widespread curiosity, are now being shipped to the princi- Cal Stearns agencies throughout the nited States. A handsomer line of bicycles it is difficult to conceive. The light road wheel, model "A," scaling at 22 pounds, incorporates in its construction many improve, nients over the standard 'model A" of 1896. the difference;, however, being mainly in detail. The tubing, in keeping with the demand of the hour, is is of larger diameter. The rear diamond tube runs upward at a straighter angle, bringing the rider further forward over his work. The model "A," as well as the other gentlemen's mounts of the Stearns wheels, is fitted with b teams im proved detachable sprocket, Stearns adjustable handle bar and the new Stearns adjustable seat post, which combines all the advantages of the T" furm with a much neater ap pearance, and of much less weight. Any gear from 60 to 84 inches is furnished, and all wheels are equipped with Stearas flat cranks, either 6, 6, 7, 7 or 8 inches in length. Model "C," the dainty drop-frame ladies' wheel at 23 pounds, typifies all that is best in the construction of a mount of this kind. It is regularly furnished with 21-inch frame. The regular finish of all Stearns wheels, except the Model C" will be orange, with black as an option. The Model "C" is regularly furnished in black, with orange as an option. Palmer tires will be the standard equipment, E. C. Stearns & Co. being licensees under Palmer patents, and are manufacturing Palmer tires for their exclusive use. Stearns Model "B" is the proto type of Model "A," except it is built heavier throughout for riders who desire a wheel suited practically to any kind of rough use. Model D" is a dainty diamond frame ladies' wheel designed partic ularly for use with the rational cos tume. The Stearns Special, Racer and tandems have not been shown, but if these wheels are received with as much favor as those already exhib ited have been, E. C. Stearns 4 Co. will have no reason to be dissatisfied with the reception of the entire line of Yellow Fellows. The Stearns is certainly not surpassed in construc tion or finish. Its 1896 models are revelations of the possibilities of scientific and artistic cycle building. C. A. Spencer is the local agent. Hotel Kleptomaniacs. I was talking to a hotel clerk, and he said : "Talk about kleptomaniacs at dry goods stores, they are scarcely a circum stance to those at a first class hotel. People who cheerfully pay $5 a day for board will steal a 10 cent cake of soap and put themselves to a great deal of trouble to do it But the principal things guests take are towels, and the collection of those atticles has become a regular fad. They are taken as souve nirs of the hotel, and a lady who bus traveled a great deal will have a whole trnnkfulwith the names of the hotels on them. This is conclusive proof that they have stopped at those booses, and a person whose towels bear the marks of hotels throughout the civilized world is to be envied as possessing a meet inter esting collection of mementos. A few napkins are taken and occasionally spoons. Door keys and checks used to disappear in great numbers, but none of these equals towels in the eyes of collect ors of hotel souvenirs. There is comfort in the knowledge that ao many forms of aickness are not due to anv actual dis ease, but simply to a constipated condi tion of the system, which the pleasant family laxative, Syrup of Figs, prompt ly removes. That is why it is the only remedy with millions of families, and is everywhere esteemed so highly by all who value good health. Its beneficial effects are due to the fact, that it is the one remedy which promotes internal cleanliness, without debilitating the organs on which it acts. It is therefore all important, in order to get its bene ficial effects, to note when yon pur chase, that you have the genuine article, which is manufactured by tbe California Fig Syrup Co. only, and sold by all rep utable druggists. If in the enjoyment of good health, and the system is regular, then laxa tives or other remedies are not needed. If afflicted with any actual disease, one may be commended to tbe most skillful physicians, but if in need of a laxative, then one should have the best, and with the well-informed everywhere. Syrup of Figs stands highest and is most largely Vsed and gives most general satisfaction. Bargain Sale for Balance of this Week. 1 Hess Bros.
