S Davis received a telegram Tuesday summoning mm to a conference in Chicago relative to the St. Louis, Peo ria & Northern railway, the new line which is to pass through Moline on the Terminal tracks and use the new- bridge at Kock Island. Mr. Davis has certain facts up his sleeve which he is cot vet ready to divulge, but which mean much for this citv.' There is a quarrel on at Davenport between the medical staff of Mercy Hospital anl JJr. fc. S. Bowman, poor physician for Scott county. It has been the custom in past years for the poor physician to turn his county pa tients over to the charity staff of Mercy hospital. Dr. Bowman in sisted on treating all of his own pa tients. He was dismissed from the medical staff of Mercy hospital. He thereupon had his patients removed to Sc. Luke's. A committee from the staff of Mercy hospital appeared before the Scott county board and protested against Dr. Bowman's ac tion. The board refused to interfere. holding that Dr. Bowman was the judge of how and by whom his pa tients should be cared for. A FORTUNATE OUTCOME.
