THE ARGUS MOXDAY, .NOVEMBER 17, 1902. 3 TIE GAME IS PLAYED Rock Island and Molina High Schools Divide Hcnors on Gridiron. CONTEST A HARD FOUGHT ONE Locals Make, the Better Showing Against Odds In Weight, Etc. Last year's score was repeated In the fhotball game betweeni-Viifoek Isl and and Moline high schools- Sat urday afternoon in Moline. The scorn was 6 to 6. which is looked upon hy the Itock Island rooters as a victory as the Moline aggregation is heavier and was supposed to outclass the locals. The game was hard fought, Moline securing her touchdown after eight minutes while fjock Island was forc ed to Vjif until near the close ft the first half The plaj'ing on both sides was slow. The locals made nearly all of their long gains through, ,Mo line'stackles. lVrrin. Moline's quarterback" ""was laid out hear the end of the game and Stromberg- was substituted. Sou dcrs and Liitt played a fine game for the local school. A short synopsis of the game fol lows: Moline won the toss and chose to defend the west goal. Kock Island kicked off to Moline's 15-yard line, Kelting returned eight yards. For 70 yards Moline plowed down the field Kock Island seemingly unable to hold them, i'he feature tif these gains was a 20-yard run by Ogden. Kelting fum bled on the 10-yard line and Itock Isl and fell on the ball. Sullivan was tried, but without success. Hook Isl and fumbled and Iledin. for Moline, picked up the ball and fell over the line for a touchdown. Kelting kicked goal. Score: Moline, 6; Kock Island. 0. Time, eight minutes. Kock Island kicked to the 10-vard line. Kelting returned 10 yards. OPULATION OF THE TRI-CITIES 71.995 POPULATION OF ROCK ISLAND Fully One-Half of this Population is Afflicted with This Complaint. When the Catarrh is Cured Cause Has Been Removed. When Doctor Wrajr Introduced his Catarrh Treatment and made the bold assertion that most Chronic Diseases were directly traceable to that cause, the theory was accepted by many suf ferers -who have tested the virtue of his treatment and proved that his theory is correct. Many have in less than one month's time been relieved of ailments that have previously baffled the skill of the best physicians. Catarrh commences in the nasal pas sages; it covers the mucous linln of . the nose and throat; it enters the eustachian tube, and penetrates the middle ear, causing roaring-, buzzing and deafness. It enters the upper part of the throat, and In time becomes chronic, produc . ing an acrid discbarge which drops ! Into the throat, causing irritation. This discharge is often times swallowed, producing Catarrh of the Stomach, commonly called Indigestion and Dys pepsia, and sometimes will extend the entire length of the bowel, causing in some excessive Diarrhoea, and In oth ers Constipation. "When the acrid discharge from the nose and throat is profuse one cannot avoid swallowing large portions of this poisonous matter,, which not only sets up a catarrhal inflammation of the stomach, but is digested with the food and carried directly Into the blood, thereby poisoning the entire system, and is liable to transmit Its baneful in fluence to the liver, kidneys and blad der. On the other hand, the catarrhal inflammation will extend down the throat to the vocal chords causing hoarseness, thence down into the bronchial tubes, causing Bronchitis, and finally into the minute air cells of the lungs, and eventually Consumption is the result. Catarrh Is a disease spoken of and treated very lightly by the medical profession, and the keynote of alarm has not been sounded, consequently the patient does not fully comprehend that he stands upon the edge of a precipice over which he may -fall at any moment, and no earthly help that may be offered will save him from an untimely grave. , ALL AFFLICTED WITH THIS DISGUSTING, MALADY SHOULD SEEK A CURE AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE MOMENT, AND TO 8UCH DOCTOR W RAY OFFERS HIS ELECTRO VAPOR CATARRH TREATMENT AS THE LATEST AND BEST, AS IT. CURES. . REMEMBER THERE IS NO TIME TO LOSE AS IT IS , THE ONLY KNOWN -TREATMENT IN THE WORLD - THAT, WILL - RELIEVE THE SYSTEM OF ITS GREATE8T ENEMY. .. NO . MATTER WHAT . YOUR TROUBLE MAY BE, OR OF HOW LONG DURATION, DOCTOR WRAY EARNE8TLY INVITES YOU TO CALL AT HIS OFFICES FOR CON SULTATION AND EXAMINATION. n 1 " Three yards were made in two downs and Kelting' punted 30 'y"ars- Liitt and Kouders went through for an ag gregate of six yards, . when Moline was penalized for offside. Liitt next went over for 10 yards. A fumble fol lowed, bat Kock Island regained the ball. A punt(was attempted, but was blocked by Moline. Stromberg secur ed the ball and advanced it 15 yards into llock Island's territory. Several more gains were made, but Moline was soon compelled to punt. From this point until the locals' secured their touchdown the ball sandwiched back and forth between the teams. Mbline jjave away slow, but sure. A feature of this period was Souders gain of 23 yards through tackle. Two minutes before the close of the half Bouders went over for a touchdown. Graves kicked goal. Score.: Moline, 6; Itock Island, 6. Lineup of Team. In the second half the ball was near the center of the field most of the time, though possibly the most of the playing was done on Moline's ter ritory. Lineup: Moline. Itock Island. Sunday was a quiet day at the president's camp on th Little Sunflower. There wus no hunt, but the president and several members of the party spent a couple of hours in the morning ram bling over the forest trails on their horses. Dinner was the chief event of the day. The menu included roast bear paws and possum and sweet potatoes. Dinner was served in camp style on a rough pine board table set up In the open air. Tin plates and tin cups were used. There were not enough knives and forks to go around. No fresh bear skin was ining up at the camp on the Little Sunflower yes terday. The president had hard luck Saturday. Twice he narrowly missed a chance for a shot and at the end of the day the bear had gotten complete ly away from both dojjs and men; and he was a big one probably weighed 4)0 pounds. The only one of the party who got anything was Judge Dickinson, who caught a string of trout. (. - The "special" arpiy was said to b advancing on the, camp, via the Little Sunflower.
