She was taken there Saturday aft ernoon by Probation Officer Henry Ditzen. to whom she was turned over by the Muscatine officers soon after her surrender to the police there. She walked the distance from Mont pelier to Muscatine after leaping from the train and after spending the night in the Falrport depot. She was little the worse for her leap from the moving train and night and day of hardships. PROVEIJ INCORRIGIBLE. Her hearing was held in the dis trict court Saturday before Judge F. D. Letts, and she was ordered taken to the state industrial home for girls. Witnesses were brought before the court to show that the girl was in corrigible and that something had to be done to correct her. According to the testimony the girl had twice run away from the Soldiers' Orphans' heme, where she had been detained by an order of the court, and that she refused to be placed under the juris diction of any family. It is said that efforts were made by her father anil the chief of police of Muscatine to have the girl taken from the jurisdiction of the local court and to keep her out of the state institution. This failed, as the papers for her committment had already been mads out. C psA ?t3f&yrc f EVJr?7r &7 AAA: Jri-W o? UYc,,i -- l Sr- W I cT . No-' nAA-A vAFA U. ( ?' k ' .
