The minute a vote is cast for a young woman she becomes a candidate and her name is placed upon the published list together with the total vote cast for her up to the time the list is published. v Who May Enter This Contest and Conditions Governing Same, , Any voting woman in Rock Island county is eligible, provided conditions set forth below are complied with. Every candidate must be regularly nominated on the blank printed on this page or a similar blank furnished by any merchant in the "1600-Block." Nominations will close Tulv 20. Candidates must reside in Rock Island county. Xo candidate will be permitted to transfer votes to another after receiving them for themselves.. Ballots sent in for names not properly nominated will not be counted. The decision of the judges, (disinterested parties , to be selected later, shall be final and conclusive. Xo young lady, either related to or employed by any merchant in 1600 Block can e--ter the contest. The "1600 Block" Merchants' Association reserve the right, to reject any objectionable nominations., HOW TO SECURE VOTES s - - Duringthis contest every merchant in the "1600 Block" will issue coupons with every purchase.
