ever ooaferred by a pnblio Institution upon
any people. The Trustees of tbii College
bare instituted one Benefiriari Scholarship
for each Congressional District ia the South
ern aa iurroanding States. Bjr thii means
Terr many poor but deterring young men
will be enabled to obtain through medioal
edaoation. Any one wishing to take advant
age of thia Benefaction which is worth to
oaoh ttadent at least $200, has only to
write to Dr. E. 8. Gaillard, Dean of the
Faculty of tba Louisville Medical College,
Louisville, Ky., when he will receive a coll
ege catalogue with full information in re
gard to all that is necessary for bin to do
to seoure one of those Scholarships. With
proper and weloome delicacy the names of
those who have secured the Beneficiary
Soholarahips will be known only to the Dean
of the Faculty. It is unnecessary to com
mend those who have established these
Benefioiary Scholarships. Their aot will
bnug tbem commendation wherever it in
known.
In accordance with the old Eippocratio
oith, forbidding physicians to charge the
families of each other for services rendered,
the Faculty of this College will make do
charge for teaching sons of physicians, and,
as no physician charges a clergyman's fa mi
if, the sons of clergymen will receive the
oi privilege. The next College session
basins October 2d, 1871. As the lecture
fies charged for eaoh student who has not
o tuiud a Banefioiary Scholarship, amount
to $ 120, annually, the public oan appreciate
