A visitor to Jefferson, July !0, heard from a man in the place, an account of Judge Haughn's murder which has readied Wash ington. This man sai l that the murder was I he subject of great rejoicing, and telegrams were constantly coining in congratulating the assassins upon their success. Tlie first shot at Judge Haughn struck his horse in the jaw. Tho second shot grazed the Judge, striking him in the neck. The horse jumped to the right and whirled around, viheu he was graspod by the assassins, who pulled him off He fell upon his knees. His assailants lit a match so as to enabla them to see whereto fire. Judge Haughu lifted bis bauds and begged that his life might lie spared for the sake of his wife and child. He then cried out for help so loud that he was heard a long distance, and then the murderers silenced Ins cries by two shota Suspicious looking men hung about the neighborhood all night, and people did not dare to venture out to learn t he cause of the shouting and shooting.
