A MANIAC SALVATIONIST.

in Wilkesbarre, Pa.
Wilkksbarrk, Pa., June 24. A member
of the 8alvation army, named David Wil
liams, created quite an uproar in his neigh
borhood Tuesday morning by rushing out
of his house into the street with
a butcher knife in one hand
and a revolver in the other.
People tied before him terror stricken. An
old woman named Davis, who was unable
to get out of his way, was severely stabbed,
and a little girl playing on her parent'
stoop was knocked over and trampled on.
Ihe maniac tried to kill his little grand'
daughter by tying her to a bedpost and then
hacking her with a knife, one was rescued
by her mother before the murdreer could
carry out his threats.
Williams has heretofore been a hard
working and industrious miner. He had
only joined the Salvation" army last month.
He said the Lord came to him and told him
that to be a successful worker in God's
cause he must make a human sacrifice.
With that object in view he started out to
kill some one. It took eight policemen to
capture the lunatic, who defied the SOU sur
rounding him to touch him.

C. I.Hooi& Co.: Gentlemen
I have had ringworm humor and salt-rnenm
so badly that my body was covered with raw
sores; so. also, my bead and face. I have
had any number of doctors in the last seven
years, and none of them could cure me. Ono
day my mother was in the city of Taunton,
and found one of your cook books, and In
reading It I found many people testifying to
cures from the use oi your Sarsaparilla and
Olive Ointment, 1 lelt forced to try it,
although I had seen many things advertised
that never dtd mo any good. I have now
taken two small bottles and one large one of
(Sarsaparilla. and used three boxes of Oint
ment. 1 now call myself cured. Nothing
can be seen of the humor but tbe dim out
lines of the sores. I shall take two mora
bottles, and then the cure will be complete.
